Open access - Stata (Statistical Package) Full simulation syntax

In addition to the stand alone stata program we also provide the full syntax used to run the simulation study in stata.

This is different from the program which performs one user defined scenario and compares against a user defined intervention effect. The full simulation lays out 200+ scenarios and compares each against multiple intervention effects. Due to the time and computational power required it was more economical to run such a large number of scenarios within one data prep file, rather than re-run the program 200 times (as each would require simulation of the initial underlying life-histories dramatically increasing the time required.

Within the stata do-file (syntax) we initially provide a description of the layout of the syntax, and codebook for short-hand used. We also have where possible annotated each of the steps performed for clarity. Note, due to the sample size, simulation of full life histories, lagged effects, and 200+ scenarios we required the use of a high-powered computer to run these simulations in full over the course of 3 months.
