Open access - Stata (Statistical Package) Program `ephorhia’

In addition, we have produced a stata program called ephorhia based on the simulation code used to produce the results of the analysis described in the excel above and the report. This program allows the user to define their own set of bespoke characteristics free from some of the constraints of the original study protocol required to make this a more manageable project. This means the program is designed to be more flexible, allowing for different relative risks, intervention sizes, intervention years, decaying risk, and between exposure correlations.

Once the user has installed the program into stata. They are able to define their own parameters (e.g. exposure, correlation, decay risk) including size of sample and number of replications. The code will run a simulation study replicating the scenario proposed but with and without an intervention applied. The results produced in style and format, replicate the results provided in the excel spread sheet.

To install, simply open (or copy and paste) and run the program code in a stata do-file. The program should then be available to use.

A help file has been produced to guide the user as to the key inputs required, and current defaults if no inputs are incorporated.

Note, this is beta version of the program, i.e. we have tested it as far as we can but we welcome any identification of bugs within the code.
